Hillel Neuer: "Nice Canadian," Not Crazy Gunman

A SWAT team take-down in a Massachusetts pizza joint results in embarrassment to police, but also a yarn Hillel will be dining out on for some time to come: Human rights activist Hillel C. Neuer has been all over the world - from South Africa, to Zurich, to Geneva and New York. But Neuer’s day in Needham last week was as unnerving as it was unforgettable.

Gives me an excuse to present this reason why we're so proud of him:

UPDATE: This one I hadn't noticed:

Hillel Neuer should be Canada's Ambassador to the UN.

Hillel Neuer is an unsung Canadian hero. I love to watch this video, which puts the truth back in the cliche: speaking truth to power..

I tried to imagine what it must be like, sitting day in day out in that place in Geneva, watching Louise Arbour overextending herself to save a genociding Iraqi leader from the gallows while men are killed, children's limbs cut off, women raped in Darfur, and homosexuals get executed in public squares in Iran.

What is it about the mass killer that gets him to the front of the line as far as the compassion of this organization is concerned?

"What is it about the mass killer that gets him to the front of the line. . .?"

Math and mendacity, I'd say. Arrayed against the UN's democrats are a surfeit of caudillos, strongmen, bullies and tyrants. The grisly logic of math, and the cowardice of leadership in "the west."

Which is why we need Hillel, and many more like him.

Order of Canada is in order for him.

Arbour would have a hernia, but it would help expose her stupidity.

His mistake was telling the police that he is a nice Canadian guy ;-)

Seriously, a cop on edge is not a nice cop anywhere in the world. In fact Hillel was lucky, even if it sound terrible.

But he is cool, no argument here.
