The Glorious Resistance Against Schoolchildren.

About 50 Afghan schoolgirls became ill and were taken to hospital after a suspected gas poisoning in their school in southwestern Afghanistan, the latest in a spate of similar incidents.

I'm on about all this on CTV News, here.

How often does Canadian TV feature such pertinent and positive discussions about Afghanistan? I ask, as in Britain there are now very few voices in the broadcast media approaching the subject from this angle. Instead all we get is troop casualties, and politicians blethering on about how British military involvement in Afghanistan is in the British national security interest. It's a kind of oscillation between heart-rending domestic tragedy and a war that to many is becoming so dreadfully tedious.

Your CTV bit was an absolute home run. I will echo Francis in hoping that the cause gets this kind of honest attention and coverage in future.

The truth, bravely spoken and presented with calm but undeniable compassion for the people and future of Afghanistan.

Thank you, Terry!

Thanks, lads.

As for Sedgie's "How often does Canadian TV feature such pertinent and positive discussions about Afghanistan?" I'd say the Canadian debate is perhaps more puerile than the British.
