Western Imperialists Again Force Afghans To Adopt Our Decadent Customs

In favour of Siar Ahmadi, 16: “I was so surprised and happy to see people skateboarding in Kabul.”

I don't know about you people, but I'm beginning to find it increasingly suspicious that right around the time the Ziocon Hegemony engulfed Afghanistan, the Lahinch Surf School began operations on the West Coast of Ireland.

Coincidence? Or. . .

I realize there's no small sarcasm in your posting, Terry, but it's actually much more surprising that there are people who are surprised that kids all over the world like to act like kids. Like that old fogey Bryan Adams says, everywhere I go, kids wanna rock...

Ah yes, but I betcha most people would be surprised to know that for some of the best surfing in the entire Atlantic, the Clare coast is what you'll want.

I'm sure the Taliban are just frik'n overjoyed that "kids all over the world like to act like kids".

Skateboards or kites, makes no matter to those fine fellows.

I can just hear the AK's being cocked in warning

Well, I'll have to take your word on that Terry.
Many moons ago when I was living in and fixing up an old anglo manor house on Lough Swilly I made a few road trips down that way expecting tubes and surf bunnies.
I was gravely disappointed. In the end, the only surfing I've ever done was in Biarritz. That said, what I call surfing was referred to at the time as a "spastic dance on a plank" by the girlfriend of the time.
On every other front though I'd take the Clare coast over Biarritz any day.
